Two Feature Easter Set for 2014
I was delighted that 2 of my Easter designs were featured top 10 in two different weeks for this year.
Using an airbrush and stencils I created this group of cookies which was awarded with top 10 Easter Cookie this past week. It was in 4th place.
A fondant version of a cookie I had seen another cookie designer do. It came in 10th but I was thrilled anyhow!

Valentines Day Cookies
Before I show you my first set of cookies for 2014 I wanted to give a warm congratulations to Nantucket Delicacy Set by Rebecca at The Cookie Architect
who was the winner of Best Cookie 2013. Again it was my honor to be among the top 10 for the year at Cookie Connection. I can not thank everyone enough for their support through out the year. It is your support and encouragement that gives me the motivation to keep creating and improving myself.
So with Valentine's Day just around the corner I created some cookies which reflect the romantic vision I have of this special day.

Cookie of the Year 2013 To Be Announced January 17th.
My Bird Houses have been nominated in the top 10 Cookie of the Year 2013. Final Awards to be announced this weekend, Jan. 17th.
This is an incredible honor considering the level of participation worldwide. I do not have any hopes to be the winner, but the fact that I am in this position after only 8 months of cookie making gives me the courage to continue to create and move forward. I thank all of you for your support.

I have the honor of 2 of my cookies being in the top 39 cookies chosen of the over 8000 cookies submitted in 2013 for COOKIE OF THE YEAR 2013.
Number 14 and Number 26 are my creations.

Additional Cookie Sets Spotlighted on Cookie Connection
Julia Usher's Cookie Connection is a site where over 1800 cookie bakers from all over the world come together in a spirit of community to share, learn and express their love for the art of baking cookies. There has been over 6,300 cookies published in all categories imaginable. Each week 10 cookies are selected and awarded a distinction. Yesterday was the 8th award I have received over the past months.
All my cookies are made with either homemade marshmallow fondant or a butter cream fondant I also make myself. The cookie base is a sugar cookie recipe that I think is awesome , one I borrowed from Signature Sweet Shoppe. You can watch Jenny's video on the following link!

*My favorite Marshmallow Fondant Recipe*
Making MMF is easy,delicious and cheaper then store bought fondant.
What you will need are the following ingredients:
*450 grams marshmallows
*900 grams of confectioners sugar
*1 1/2 tbsp. water
*1 tsp. of extract.
*high ratio shortening or Crisco or Trex
- Put the marshmallows and water into a microwaveable bowl and heat on high for 30 seconds. Stir (with greased spoon) and continue to heat at 30 second intervals until the MM are melted.
- Slowly add the icing sugar in parts, stirring after each addition until combined.
- Grease hands and work surface. Knead until smooth and no longer sticky.
- Grease and wrap tightly in cling wrap and leave to firm- if you wish to add color and flavoring at this point it makes it much easier to work with since it is warm and pliable.
This MMF can be stored at room temperature in a plastic bag and then an air tight tupper for at least a month.
This, of course, is not my personal recipe. I seen this recipe 100 times so wouldn't know who to credit with it's origins but I have made it many times and works well for me.
